About Phillips Environmental Products
& their new name "Go Clean Waste"

Since being founded in 1999 by Bozeman Montana residents, Bill Phillips, Pam Phillips, and Mike Groff, thousands of individuals have been using our products, and have exercised responsible waste disposal. We believe an environmentally sensitive attitude will protect our mountains, forest and waterways and serve earth in the long run.

Phillips Environmental Products has performed extensive product and market research, retaining the services of the University of Wisconsin Graduate Business School, the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center and the Montana State University department of Plant Pathology. Evaluations and product review was provided by the NASA Tech Link, BLM, outdoor product retailers, the NOLS and many managers of emergency services.

Located in Belgrade, Montana, only 90 miles north of Yellowstone National Park, our office is surrounded on three sides by the Bridger, Gallatin, and Tobacco Root Mountains. Our location is a constant reminder of the need to "Tread Lightly and Leave No Trace" on the world we live in.

In only a few years our company has grown rapidly and our products have gained the confidence of many users. Today our products are deployed by the United States Military, United States National Park Service and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In addition to governmental agencies, users of our products include backcountry travelers, rock climbers, river rafters, utility crews, survey parties and boaters. Our products are also available from a growing number of outdoor & emergency preparedness retailers, including Modern Outpost.

Litter and human waste that is left behind in the outdoors has a significant impact on the environment. With the number of people visiting backcountry areas on the rise, we must all take part in reducing the impact on the environment.

Dear Brian:

I was prompted to think back a bit as to our meeting at the King County Emergency Preparedness Conference last year.  That was my first attendance at such a gathering and I was amazed at the interest and emphasis on safety that I saw that day.  I had no idea there were so many vendors and products related to this area.

It was just by chance that I came by your display area and I think the pop tent caught my eye since I am still a camper at heart (even though my RV is a long shot from a tent).  From there it didn’t take me long to see the important applications of your PETT® System portable bathroom.  You and your partner were most helpful and you were very well informed.  You promised to contact me and supply me with literature………and you did both.  As Director of School Safety for the Renton School District I was able to access some funds and secure a number of these units with your help.  All of our schools and even our central administration building now have your PETT® System units available for use during their emergency exit drills.  Staff at the buildings quickly learned how to set up the units and everyone was delighted at the simplicity of the process.  The “pop-tent potties” are used as an integral part of exit drills in a number of our buildings this year.

I know that some of the schools are ordering more units and in some cases, the PTA has taken on the job of supplying more for the buildings.  They saw quickly that this was something they wanted on site for both staff and the students.  I suspect that we will be ordering more units throughout the next few years until we have adequate numbers on hand.

It was a pleasure working with you and your family on this project.  My secretary enjoyed the relationship also.  I know you are thinking about additional needs we might have as we begin to develop Comprehensive School safety Plans for each of our school sites this year.  Be sure and share all your good ideas with us.
